The Single Modern Homemaker
Having just returned from another all girls' gathering hosted by one of my favourite women in the world, I felt sufficiently inspired to have a new year resolution: give my home a small makeover, so that I can entertain and have visitors again.
We start slow, and easy, in manageable and achievable forms:
1. Buy and put up new curtains in three rooms
2. Clean and polish marble floor
3. Get a new TV
4. Conquer clutteritis
5. Buy new sofa set
6. Buy new sound system
7. Find my homeware vouchers and redeem my grill, hot flask and toaster
I've never harboured such strong domestic emotions before, and it's all a little strange to me. So exciting. Anyone likes to help? I just sent out an sms to some people, asking where to get curtains and what other steps are involved prior to actually putting them up. As you probably know already, I'm not very good at Real Life, but it's never too late to get my hands dirty and the house clean.
